16th March 1997 8th February 1998 ? Tony Fisher 4x4x4 Master Cube / Rubik's Revenge 9.7 x 13 x 13 cm / 3.8 x 5.1 x 5.1 inch |
This was my second Cuboid puzzle. Eastsheen Cubes weren't out yet so I used a 4x4x4 Master Cube / Rubik's Revenge. The add-on pieces were virtually solid and cast from polyester resin. Remeltable rubber (Gelflex) was used for the moulds. The resulting puzzle I made in 1998 is even more enormous and heavy than my original 3x3x4. Looking back I recall that many of the Master Cube pieces broke during the making of this puzzle. This was due to stress that the weight caused and simply trying to assemble it. It's one of those many puzzles which had me tearing my hair out. At that time there were very few people transforming puzzles and I had no contact with any of them. Everything I did was self taught.
