This is probably the first ever 7x7x7 transformation. I made it in 2008 from the one in my drop kick video. It only had a few scuff marks on the outside so was ideal for something like this. I used a Dremel to shape it though when I started I wasn't quite sure exactly what I would transform it in to. However as time went by this shape seemed to naturally immerge. I had previously made a Rubik's Cube into a cylinder and this was going a similar way. Because of the pillowing on the 7x7x7 it came out more barrel shaped.
Normally I hate white plastic but for once I actually like the way this thing looks. Especially some of the patterns you can make with the unusual curved lines. Those curves are created because I cut quite deeply and part of the mechanism is exposed. Luckily the thing still stays together and works fine.
I have used 10 colours. They are orange opposite red on top and bottom, then going around the middle in columns are blue, brown, yellow, purple, green, pink, black, and turquoise. It moves as well as the puzzle it was made from and I am very happy with it.
